8 Easy Steps on How to Bake Potatoes with a Camping Grill

Baking potatoes with your camping grill is simple. All you have to do is prepare your camping grill, wash and peel your potatoes, poke some holes on them, wrap them in aluminum foil, put them on the grill, check on them occasionally, and serve once ready.

Camping is a fun experience and we often find ourselves busy exploring and engaging in various outdoor activities like hiking, hunting, and the likes. That is why most campers wanted to bring with them foods that are easy to prepare, cook, eat and dispose. An example of which are potatoes, one of the many favorite and basic camping food.

Potatoes can be traveled well because they don’t spoil easily even without refrigeration. You can also come up with lots of delicious recipes from it. Below are the most basic steps in baking potatoes with a camping grill.

Step 1: Prepare camping grill

It is best that you prepare the grill first before everything else. Clean it, let it dry, and preheat grill just like when you’re baking on an oven.

Step 2: Wash and peel potatoes

Wash potatoes thoroughly with water and peel off outer skin. If you don’t want to bake them whole, you can slice them into smaller pieces.

Step 3: Poke some holes

Poke some holes on them using a fork. Holes help in absorbing the seasonings and flavorings that you would add later. They will also allow ventilation and hasten cooking.

Step 4: Add some oil and some seasoning

Layer the potatoes with some oil and then sprinkle some salt, pepper or other seasoning that you prefer. The oil will help in the absorption of seasonings and will give the potatoes the golden color when they are cooked.

Step 5: Wrap them in aluminum foil

After seasoning and adding flavor to the potatoes, place them in individual aluminum foils and wrap them nicely. The aluminum foil helps in cooking them faster for it conducts heat well, and it also helps in preventing the potatoes from being burnt directly.

Step 6: Put them on the grill

Put the wrapped potatoes on the grill. It would take approximately 15 to 45 minutes to cook them but it all depends on how hot the grill is. Turn them often so that they won’t get burnt.

Step 7: Check occasionally

Check the potatoes occasionally. You will have to make a small opening on the foil to do this. A light brown crispy appearance will tell you that they are ready. But the best way to tell if they are cooked properly is by poking them again with a fork or a toothpick. The potatoes are ready when the fork or toothpick goes right in easily.

Step 8: Serve once ready

Remove wrapped potatoes from the grill, remove the foils, and serve while still hot.

Now that baking potatoes are just easy as the eight basic steps mentioned above, it will now also be easy for you to try different baked potato recipes. Learn to experiment and in no time, you’ll be serving lots of delicious baked potato dishes for everyone.

9 Truths Dentists Want You to Know for Good Oral Health

For good oral health, dentists want you to know all about: combining dental checkups with with oral screenings, gum disease, dental cleaning, good brushing habit, bad breath elimination, the right nutrition, dental problem treatment, the root canal procedure, and regular toothbrush replacement.

Many people are apprehensive about going to the dentist for several reasons, with fear being a major factor. However, you must overcome whatever causes your anxiety about visiting the dentist so you can have healthy oral hygiene. Below are some essential facts about oral care that you should follow if you want to achieve and maintain good dental health:

Combine dental checkups with oral screening

A regular checkup with your dentist is very important. You also need to schedule time for a particular type of dental screening to see if there are any signs of oral cancer, a dental disease affecting the mouth, throat or lips. Cure is possible with treatment begins after early diagnosis.

Gum disease

Gum disease is one of the chief reasons of adult tooth loss. In fact, gum disease is also linked to heart disease and strokes. Gingivitis, an early stage gum disease, is treatable when addressed right away. The advanced stage, which is called periodontal disease, may result in bone loss. Proper and regular brushing along with daily flossing, checkups, and cleanings are the best ways to prevent gum disease.

Dental cleaning

Visiting your dentist regularly for dental checkups and cleanings are vital steps to follow if you want achieve good overall dental health. Both of these factors contribute to the prevention of cavities, gum disease, root canals, and oral cancer.

Good brushing habits

You have to brush your teeth properly and regularly if you want good dental hygiene. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day removes plague, a soft, sticky substance from bacteria and food particles that gathers on your teeth and causes cavities. You also need to floss daily to get remove the plaque and food particle that get stuck between your teeth that your toothbrush can not reach.

Bad breath elimination

Bad breath is a result of a dental problem. Talk to your dentist or oral hygienist about your present dental condition to help you eliminate the causes of your bad breath. It is important to note that using mouthwash will only temporarily cover the odor and does not address or cure the root cause at all.

Right nutrition

Proper nutrition can contribute a lot to good oral health. It is necessary to minimize intake of non-nutritious foods such as those that are high in sugar content. Soft drinks, for one, have so much sugar that when combined with the bacteria found in your mouth will eventually produce acids that damage your tooth enamel.

Dental problem treatment

A dental problem left unattended will not resolve itself. When you are given a treatment plan by your hygienist or dentist, you need to follow it precisely. Otherwise, the problems in your mouth will get worse. For instance, if you have cavities that go untreated, they will eventually get large enough that you will need a tooth extraction or a root canal instead, two procedures that could be avoided by a simple dental treatment when the problem was originally detected.

Root canal procedure

A root canal is not painful at all, and with today's improved technology, it can be as painless as a filling. Although, it is always better to take good care of your teeth to prevent this procedure, to save money, and to avoid the anxiety undergoing this treatment.

Regular toothbrush replacement

It is a good idea to change your toothbrush every 3 months since it wears out by then. If you happen to have any gum disease, you need to replace your toothbrush every 4 weeks because of the bacteria hiding among the bristles of your brush.

It is the goal of every dentist to provide you with the right information on dental care for your general health. Whether he is a dentist located in California, or a dentist in Manhattan, every dentist has the same goal: to guide you through the proper ways to achieve good oral hygiene.

So take good care of your teeth, you will be happy you did.

4 Healthy Ways of Losing Excess Stomach Weight

Here are a few tips on how to lose excess stomach weight in a healthy way: drink plenty of water, fruits and veggies; engage in aerobic exercise; do some weight training; have a proper nutrition and diet.

Excess belly weight can be very annoying. And, to get rid of them fast is one major concern of almost all women who gained weight through time. What to do and how to do it effectively is the big question. Below are some helpful ways that you can follow to achieve your goal:

Drink plenty of water, fruits and veggies

Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Water will eliminate toxins from your body making it very important for your health. Drinking plenty of it can basically aid you in controlling your diet. Drinking vegetable and fruit juice is another healthy way of eliminating fat since they are rich in fiber. Fiber will naturally push calories out of your body.

Engage in aerobic exercise

Aerobic exercise includes bicycling, jogging, walking, swimming, dancing and stair climbing. These exercises are great for burning belly weight. Any of these exercises should be done for about 30 minutes or more. Anything less than that would be considered as a exercises contributing to plainly cardiovascular benefits, but not in burning the fats in your abdominal area.

Do some weight training

Weight training need not be a strenuous one for you. Choose a program that fits just right for your body structure and need. This is a very good way to sculpt and tone your muscles. Weight training is able to burn fats fast and easier because of its capability to increase metabolism rate.

Have a proper nutrition and diet

In order to succeed in your fat elimination program, the key here is to integrate exercise and good nutrition and proper diet. You should have less intake of calories to expedite in getting rid of the excess weight in your belly. Eating in smaller portions of about 4 to 5 times per day is better that overeating in one or maybe two meal times. Choose natural and or organic food too. Take vitamins and supplements for a healthier you. Lastly, have a large amount of fiber and protein in your food intake. Foods rich in monounsaturated fats like beans, nuts and avocado can give you a feeling of being full, thus decreasing you cravings for more food.

Excess belly weight is caused not only by lack of exercise and increase in food intake. Studies show that stress can play a devastating role in your tummy. But, then again, with enough rest and exercise combined with a proper nutrition like that of Jillian Michaels diet, you know you have better chances of having the flat belly you so desire.

Power of Fruit Review and Giveaway

I was given the opportunity to try out The Power of Fruit Bars.

Let me tell you these are the best frozen fruit bars. They taste so yummy. The frozen fruit bars taste just like real fruit, because they are made with real fruit. They are gluten-free and best of all their is no sugar in them at all. I am intolerant to sugar as well as gluten. I told the company that I really appreciated the fact that they are sugar-free, yeah!!!

With Summer being here this is the perfect frozen treat to share with your kids, family and friends. I would highly recommend these fruit bars to anyone who deals with food allergies, unless of course you are allergic to fruit. Even if you don't have food allergies and want a healthy frozen treat, these are for you.

The Power of Fruit Bars are made of whole fruit. No corn syrup, no additives and no preservatives. They blend whole fruits like strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, mangoes, pineapples and bananas together with just a small amount of natural juice concentrate and water. One fruit bar equals 1/2 a daily fruit serving. They come in three flavors: Original Fruit Berry Bar, Tropical Bar and Banana Berry Bar. I got to try all three flavors of these bars. My favorite is the Tropical Bar with pineapple, mango, banana and white grapes in them. Mmm, I love pineapples.

Check out The Power of Fruit on their website. While your there do a search for your local store as to where you can purchase them, just type in your zip code. Over 1,700 stores are now carrying the fruit bars, including Publix and Whole Foods Market.

Organic Bistro & Helen's Kitchen Review

I was sent some coupons to try out Organic Bistro Whole Life Meals and Helen's Kitchen Simple Health Meals.

I love the Organic Bistro Whole Life Meals.
They taste so good and they are very filling. My favorite one that tried is The Chicken Citron. (Lemon Chicken over Herbed Quinoa and Sundried Edamame). It was so good, I love Quinoa. Made with Organic Veggies and Whole Grains. And best of all it is Gluten-Free.

I highly recommend Organic Bistro for those times when you just don't have time to fix a meal. I have tried allot of gluten-free frozen dinners and in my opinion these are the best tasting gluten-free meals.

This is what Organic Bistro says about their company.

The I tried The Cheese Enchiladas in Red Sauce with Tofu Steak's. It was good. A little on the spicy side for me, but it was a good meal all in all. And the other meal I got was The Indian Curry over Rice with Tofu Steaks. It was also very tasty.

The meals that I tried are Gluten-Free, GMO and Trans Fat Free.

Note: Not all of Helen's Meal's are gluten-free, so be sure and check the box to make sure it says gluten-free on the box.

Here is what Helen's Kitchen says about their company.

Gluten Sensitivity Symptoms

I thought I would share more about "Gluten Sensitivity Symptoms".

The Symptoms I have dealt with:

Abdominal Pain
Fatigue and Weakness
Bloating
Depression, Anxiety and Irritability
Acid reflux
Fuzzy Brain or Inability to Concentrate
Constipation
Dental Enamel Deficiencies and Irregularities
Gas and Flatulence
Respiratory Problems
Nausea
Hair Loss
Weight Loss
Bruise Easily
Muscle Cramps
Swelling and Inflammation (Hands and Feet)
Joint/Bone Pain
Infertility
Abnormal Menstrual Cycles
Canker Sores
Acne

I also have had sinus problems and my eyes bugging me all the time, part of that was my Heital Hernia. And had a very hard time sleeping at night because of the bad acid reflux. It is much better when I am sticking to the Gluten-Free Diet and staying away from Sugars and Dairy Products. I had my hernia operation in August 2009 and I am much better now, though I still need to stay away from the foods that bother me.

There are allot more symptoms out there and everyone's symptoms will be different. For more symptoms: Gluten Sensitivity Symptoms

If you have some of these symptoms, you too could be Gluten Intolerance or have Celiac Disease. Have your doctor check you for Celiac Disease. (Make sure that you are still eating Gluten Foods so that they can get a better result). And or go to a Nature Path and have them do a Food Sensitivity Test on you. That is how I found out that I am Gluten Intolerant. My Doctor did Celiac Disease Testing on me, but the test results came out normal. The doctor told me that it is not 100% accurate and that you could still have Gluten Intolerance.
